Craig Erwich, President, Hulu Originals & ABC Entertainment, fielded questions from reporters from across the nation during the Winter Tv set critics printing tour. Soap Hub was on the scene to get the scoop on Full general Hospital and other soap opera-related stories.
ABC/Hulu Exec Praises General Hospital
Final year, peacock, NBC's streaming service, streamed two Days of our Lives projects in an effort to bring fans of the broadcast soap opera over to the peacock. Beginning, there was Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem, a five-episode mini-series.
After the success of that, Peacock ordered Days of our Lives: A Very Salem Christmas, which was available on Peacock Premium. Might we see General Hospital content on Hulu, the streaming service that's owned majorly by The Walk Disney Company, which also owns ABC (GH'southward broadcaster)?
"General Hospital is having a great flavour as it has for many of the past decades," Erwich told Lather Hub. "We're always open to exploring additional iterations or explorations of that franchise. The show is having a great year. We're open."
How Green Is Pino Valley
Soap Hub likewise queried Erwich on any updates on Pino Valley, the dark series based on All My Children. In late 2020, Soap Hub picked up Variety'southward report that quondam AMC stars Kelly Ripa (Hayley) and Mark Consuelos (Mateo) were helping develop Pino Valley along with Robert Nixon, son of AMC'south late creator Agnes Nixon.
Pino Valley is gear up to tell the story of a new announcer who comes to boondocks to do an expose on some of the murderous scandals that happened in the Pennsylvania suburb. The journalist then ends up entangled with the Kane and Santos clans.
General Hospital Streams on Hulu
While GH airs on ABC and streams on Hulu (the adjacent day), there'southward no discussion on Pino Valley airing anywhere — at least right now. "I don't have any updates on that project correct at present," Erwich replied.
